Despite the excess of kittens born in Clark County each
spring, they are easily adopted since everyone prefers
a kitten. Senior kitties however, aren’t that lucky. The
PALS program helps Homeward Bound connect senior
kitties with senior citizens on a limited income.
Benefits of adopting an older kitty:
How 'older' is older? Some veterinary professionals identify kitties that are seven and up as older. Because some kitties live well into their teens or twenties, we at Homeward Bound see this as a great opportunity to give a 'fur-ever' home to one of these wonderful souls.
If by chance a senior person adopts a younger kitty
of course we hope that they have found a great
rejuvenating companion. Should the senior's health
deteriorate, however, we want that special pet parent
to know that their kitty will continue to live their
lives in a safe and nurturing environment. By initiating
a Bequest on behalf of their kitty to Homeward
Bound, we guarantee that kitty will be cared for with
the same love and respect for the remainder of their life.
